Dig Day 2022

Dig Day is back and is happening on
Saturday, June 11th at 10am.

Join us on the farm to learn about our bulb harvesting process and dig up bulbs from our display beds, large tulip pots, and daffodil pots to take home to your own garden. Please bring your own tools for digging and dress for potentially muddy weather.

Limited tickets will be sold online only through our website. Dig Day ticket sales will begin at 10:00 am (Pacific) Tuesday, May 31st. We encourage you to order tickets as soon as they become available as the event sells out fast.

Everyone aged 2 years or older needs a ticket to dig.

Topped tulips at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

A view from our fields…

At the farm we are busy topping the tulips.

We snap the seed pod off, but do not cut the flowering stalk or leaves.

The leaves are gathering energy to produce a stronger bulb for next year’s flowers.

We allow the foliage to die back naturally.  If your bulbs are in pots store them in a cool place.

In the fall the potted bulbs must be replanted with new soil in another pot or your yard.

Be sure to fertilize when planting and again when they emerge from the ground.
